Manny Perez, is the creator of TM1, which he describes as the first “Functional Database.” Manny was one of the first visionaries to exploit in-memory computing back in the early 1980s. He designed TM1 from the ground up specifically to solve complex, forward-looking business modelling problems associated with budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.

TM1 (Table Manager 1) is a multidimensional, in-memory OLAP database with a cell-orientated structure–like spreadsheets–allowing users to create sophisticated financial models and perform advanced calculations while benefiting from control and governance.

Cubewise
Our company was founded in 2004 on an idea to try and have as many of these satisfying moments as possible – and nothing has changed since.
It is this pursuit of satisfying light bulb moments that fuels our interest in helping you master TM1. As a lucky by-product of this, we’ve found that the more you – our customer – do good TM1 yourself, the more satisfying it is for you as well, as you learn how to apply TM1 to your business in such a way that allows you to run your financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting processes without the need for external consultants and contractors.
It has therefore naturally evolved at Cubewise that we have learned that it is not our job to do TM1 for you, rather for us to teach you how to do TM1.
In this way, we’ve helped hundreds of Cubewise clients implement TM1 applications that eliminate the problems associated with using Excel for budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting. We know from experience that by doing good TM1 yourself, you free up time for analysis and other value-added activities, which are much more meaningful to your organisation and to the individuals that learn TM1 in your organisation.
